FEBRUARY RESIDENT OF THE MONTH

BILL RANSOM
Traditions at Reagan Park

FEBRUARY RESIDENT OF THE MONTHMeet Bill Ransom, our February Resident of the Month! Bill was born in Flint, Michigan, but grew up in the state capital of Lansing, which is known as the birthplace of Oldsmobile and home to Michigan State University. Bill has called Traditions at Reagan Park home for 6 months.

“I chose Reagan Park after our oldest daughter, Nancy, toured this beautiful community. The best part… it is only 3 minutes from her home!”

Bill, who is a retired lawyer, has “a wonderful family… all of whom helped us move to Reagan Park.”

Bill met his “very special wife, Marilyn,” while they were students at the University of Michigan in the late ‘50s. They called the Cleveland, Ohio, area (mostly North Olmsted), home for nearly 58 years before moving to Reagan Park in August of 2022.

Bill and Marilyn have been married for over 62 years and have 3 children: Nancy, who lives nearby); Andy, who lives in Coral Gables, Florida, and Liz, who calls Baltimore, Maryland, home. In addition to their 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, Bill said, “We also have a son-in-law and daughter-in-law that are terrific!”

Since retirement, Bill relaxes by watching sports, reading and enjoying community theatre. When asked if he has any hidden talents, Bill chuckled and said, “It’s hidden so well that I’m still looking for it! But I did participate in a Jazz Trio in high school - I played clarinet. I also enjoyed acting in community theatre. My best ‘talent’ was not my acting but memorizing my lines!”

Chef Brooke’s prime rib dinner is Bill’s favorite meal at Traditions at Reagan Park; he also loves all chef’s soups. Bill loves socializing with his fellow residents, whether during a restaurant excursion or a movie.

When asked why Bill was chosen as their Resident of the Month, CJ Boswell, Reagan Park Executive Director said, “Bill was chosen as our Resident of the Month due to the positive contributions he has made to the culture of our community.”

Emily Goforth, Reagan Park Community Relations Director, elaborated by saying, “He actively participates in council meetings providing valuable feedback to our team, participates in social events while bringing a spirit of fun. He finds opportunities to lend a helping hand to others when the opportunity presents itself and is just a fun guy to have around.
